A real stalwart of Ten-25, Bob has been with us since 1986. He previously worked for RHM Agriculture in Dorset, then Dalgety Agriculture in Bristol, where he became a Cobol programmer. Bob is our Software Development Manager and has years of experience behind him of the Strip/UniSTRIP/UniTRADE family of products stretching right back to the old ‘Assembler’ days of the System 25.
As well as ensuring the UniTrade360 system is constantly evolving and improving, Bob also works in system analysis and design, coding, and internal systems administration.
He says, “Working for a company like Ten-25 means you are involved in all aspects of product design, production and delivery as well as having the opportunity to evaluate new technologies as they come along.”
Never one to allow himself to get bored, Bob keeps busy outside work as well. He has served as a Governor at a large first school for about 10 years, acting as Chair for the past three. He has always been actively involved in sport, playing football to county level in his earlier years as well as local and national league volleyball. Having always cycled, often riding the two miles to work, and taking up regular road cycling about a year ago, Bob completed a 70 mile Wiggle ride across the New Forest at the end of last summer.
Finally, when given a chance to sit down, he and his wife (who works for Pavilion Dance South West in Bournemouth) often attend contemporary dance performances and art house movies. How he still has the time to work the dedicated hours he does is a mystery, but we’re very grateful that he does!
